An approach to detection of pseudoginsenosides in plant extracts and commercial products was developed on the basis of liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry . The approach was validated for 2 main ginsenosides F11 and RT5 determinated  in the extracts from roots of Panax ginseng and Panax quinquefolius. Analysis of samples was carried out using a reversed-phase chromatography with C18 sorbent. For compounds determination, electrospray ionization in positive ion mode and tandem mass spectrometric detection system were used. Limits of detection  in multiple  reaction monitoring mode were 10 and 20 ng ml –1. Linearity with correlation coefficient >0.999 was observed for the range of 50–2000 ng ml –1.
