The paper describes the method for authenticity valuation of drugs based on recombinant human insulin and its five analogues using low and high resolution electrospray/ionization mass spectrometry. Average and monoisotopic molecular masses of active compound was calculated and compared to theoretical ones. Mass error was 1.0 and 0.01–0.03 Da for low and high resolution mass spectrometry, respec tively. The advantage of using a high resolution mass spectrometry for a preliminary assessment of the corresponding amino acid sequence of the active ingredient of the drug to the sequence declared by a manufacturer was shown.
